The History of Shepherd Scopes is a history of ideas. In 1979 while in a
sound sleep, Dan Shepherd dreamed he was hunting deer. He looked into
his scope to check its zero and saw that there was a bright light dead
center of the scope and another star like light at about ten o’clock
high. He turned a dial on the scope and the light at 10 o’clock began
to move toward the light in the center of the scope. He kept turning the
dial until both lights were aligned in the center of the sight
picture. He knew the scope was re-zeroed! When he awoke the next day
he could not get that dream out of his head and by 1983 the Shepherd
Dual Reticle Scope, was on the market.
I have personally used
Shepherd Scopes for 39 years. I have hunted Elk, Deer and Antelope with
Shepherd scopes and they have out performed all scopes. The Dual Reticle
System (DRS) is the most simple ranging system to use ever made and it
is still true today. The scopes are a one shot zero even if it is moved
from one gun to another. They are also the fastest scopes in the world
for range finding and target acquisition. Shepherd scopes also have the
highest level light gathering capability. They will show your target in
extreme low light conditions when other scopes will not. I also sold
Shepherd scopes for many years and never had one fail. These scopes were
also tested by the military against an M60 machine gun with night
vision in quarter moonlight conditions for speed, accuracy and target
acquisition. Guess who won the trials. There are none better. No Brag.
Just Fact.
