Description

This is a TEXAS GREAT STAR FLAG. It is NEW. It is SEWN. It is also known as the Luminary Flag. When Texas was annexed to the United States on December 29, 1845, it became the 28th state. As a result, a 28th star was added to the American flag. Since the Flag Resolution of 1777 and the Flag Acts of 1795 and 1818 were fairly ambiguous, the only established rules for the flag required 13 alternating red and white stripes and a star for each state. A tradition had evolved, by the time of Texas's admittance to the United States of introducing the new flag on July 4th following the state's admission. As a result, the 28 star flag was officially introduced on July 4, 1846. The Luminary Pattern is especially appropriate, considering Texas is known as the Lone Star State and flew the Lone Star flag as an independent nation from 1836 to 1845. It is COMPLETELY SEWN. This Flag is made from 100% COTTON. It has a Cotton Canvas Header and Brass Grommets. The Fly is Double Stitched. The Flag Size is 3 Feet by 5 Feet. This Flag is BRAND NEW and NEVER USED. It is Excellent Quality and is Correct in All Details. We DO NOT stencil, iron on or glue on flag components as some others do. Beware of cheap imitations. Our flags are COMPLETELY SEWN. This is a Great Flag for Reenactors or any Civil War History Buff. It makes a Great Gift.
